One of my favorite things to do is stare at the shark tank at the Shedd Aquarium.  Or sit near Lake Michigan and pretend it's the ocean. I think about my connection to the world around me constantly.

It's that mysterious connection that entices me to write. Like 96% of young women, I started writing poems when I was in high school. Most were written during math class. All of them were terrible. I moved on to reciting others' scripted words in college theatre. In the past five years I've combined the page with the stage, touring and competing nationally as a performance poet. All of this has been accomplished with a heavy case of stage fright. What can I say? I like to live (grow!) uncomfortably.

If you'd like a shark-staring buddy, or to maybe talk poetry or copy, give me a holler.
